SAVI is a unique alliance of organizations, each with a commitment to serving disadvantaged, excluded, and isolated communities. We work primarily in the Black Country and Birmingham, concentrating our efforts on people, families, and communities who experience disadvantage and discrimination because of racism, cultural or language differences.

We respond to issues affecting the communities we support in local places, e.g. Smethwick, West Bromwich.

Currently, SAVI has the following members, all of whom have agreed to work together towards shared goals;
– EWACIC; a Polish-led charitable community-based organisation
– EMCONET; a community-based charity supporting Russian speaking communities
– RUDA; a community-based organisation working with Romanian, Moldovan and Roma Communities
– ILEYS; a Somalian led community organisation
– FNC; a charity focused on promoting dialogue and co-operative action between diverse faith and cultural backgrounds
– The Dog Duck and Cat Trust; a charity aiming to build the resilience of young people through relevant and accessible resources to young children, aged 4-9.
– Creative Cohesion West Midlands; a local organisation with roots in the Kashmiri community
– Smethwick CAN and Foodbank; providing urgent community support through collaboration between active churches.

We invite other local organisations that share our mission, values, and aims to join SAVI.

Our shared vision: Engaging and Connecting Communities with Services, Support and Society to achieve improved health and wellbeing and safer lives.

Our values:

  • We will stand up for marginalised, excluded, and disadvantaged communities
  • We will communicate with people in their own language and in a way that is relevant to their culture, and we will help public agencies to do likewise.
  • We will promote awareness of rights, services and access to our local communities
  • We will join in communications and campaigns regarding important public health, public safety and help extend reach to marginalised groups.
  • We will articulate needs to service providers and agencies with a duty to provide services and support
  • We will be dynamic and energetic in the pursuit of our vision, aims, and objectives, and in influencing providers to respond

We have 3 broad aims:

  • To empower local marginalised communities so that their access to services and support from the public and voluntary sector agencies is maximised.
  • To build positive relationships between all communities by celebrating difference, diversity and actively promoting community cohesion
  • To be a catalyst and a centre for joint action between organisations who align themselves with our mission and values through membership of SAVI.

For each aim we have set the following objectives;
